Which All-Inclusive Resort Is Best For You?

Updated: Jun 14

Not all resorts are created equal. There are a wide range of all-inclusive resorts at many different price points for travelers to choose from. This makes vacation planning quite overwhelming!

Not to worry, I am here for you. Together, we can create the perfect vacation for you.

In general, all-inclusive means all meals, drinks, and activities are included in the price of your vacation package. It is a great no stress way to travel!

Every all-inclusive resort does not offer the same package of inclusions, room sizes/categories, and activities. For the most part, food and drinks are always included. Dig a little deeper and you will find small differences that can affect your overall enjoyment of your vacation.

When choosing an all-inclusive resort for your vacation, there are many things to consider.

Let’s dig in!

Location: All-inclusive resorts are located in beautiful beach destinations mainly in Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and other islands in the Caribbean. Each destination has its own pros, cons, and personality.

Is a gorgeous beach a top priority to you? While most all-inclusive resorts are located oceanfront, not all are on a long stretch of soft sandy beach with clear turquoise waters.

Food: We love indulging in delectable cuisine while on vacation! Vacation calories don’t count, right? Food quality and variety are important factors in many travelers’ decisions.

Many resorts offer several dining options from buffets to snack carts to ale carte restaurants serving cuisine from around the world. Some resorts serve out-of-this world gourmet meals while others offer good food, but maybe not great.

Another difference to consider in this category is the fact that some resorts include all restaurants in the package price, but others may have upgraded experiences or food (lobster, filet mignon) at an extra charge. For some, this is a nice way to customize their vacation experience while others prefer to have everything included so they don’t have to think about what is included and what is not.

Activities: Where do I even start?! All-inclusive resorts offer a wide range of daily and nightly activities and entertainment each and every day. The size of the resort, whether it is family friendly or adult only, and the resort location all play into what each resort offers for its guests. Most include non-motorized water sports such as kayaking and paddleboarding. Here is a list of some other activities you may find at an all-inclusive resort- Bowling, Laser Tag, Fitness Classes, Waterparks, Lazy River, Cooking Classes, Tequila Tastings, Kids Clubs, Teen Clubs, Sand/Pool Volleyball, Tennis, Pickleball, Movies Under the Stars, and SO MUCH MORE!

Adult Only vs Family Friendly: As adults, we need to take time to recharge and relax without our kids. Your vacation experience will be very different when you choose a family friendly resort as opposed to an adult only resort when traveling without kids. When you are traveling without your own kids, you may not want to be around other peoples’ kids when trying to have a romantic dinner or quiet day at the beach.

On the other hand, the family friendly resorts can be fully loaded with activities and experiences to keep everyone in the family happy.

It is my goal to find the perfect fit for your vacation preferences, style, and budget. All you need to do is kick back and relax.
