6 Reasons to Book your Disney World Dining Reservations in Advance

Let’s chat about Disney World dining reservations. 🍴

Disney resort guests are able to make their dining reservations 60 days prior to arrival for the length of their trip.

This is a huge benefit for planning! Here’s why:

1. Secure your table at your preferred restaurants. Many of the more popular restaurants (and even not so popular) can book up months in advance - 👀 looking at you, Cinderella’s Royal Table. Booking your dining reservations in advance is the only way to ensure you get to enjoy these meals/experiences.

2. Take a much needed break. Our family loves scheduling our table service meals at lunch time. This gives us a nice midday break in the air conditioning to relax, talk about the things we already did, and plan the rest of the day.  This strategy helps take advantage of the low crowds of the morning hours and taking a break during the busier midday hours.

3. Interact with beloved characters without the fuss. You can spend a lot of time waiting in lines to see the characters in the theme parks. By planning a character meal during your Disney World vacation, you can meet numerous characters without waiting in line. Multi-tasking at its finest!

4. Amazing cuisine. I’m all about the food when I travel! Disney World restaurants have a wide variety of cuisine to make everyone in the family happy. From buffets to Italian to prime rib to hibachi- there is something for even the pickiest eaters in your family.

5. Helps structure your daily plans. Whether you are dining at Disney Springs, the theme parks, or a Disney resort, knowing where your reservations are helps all other planning pieces fall into place. Use your dining reservations as anchors and build your schedule around them.

6. Minimize your wait times. Walk up wait times can be up to two hours or more and some restaurants don’t even offer walk ups as an option. While you can now use your My Disney Experience app to join virtual walk-up lists, this isn’t available at every location.  Not only that…it takes time on the app to find available spots that everyone can agree on. This could make for a stressful afternoon when you’ve got some Hangry going on.

So, are you Team Plan Ahead or Team Spontaneous?

I am definitely Team Plan Ahead!  I love having these decisions made prior to departing from home so I know our dining experiences are just what we want and we won’t be standing around trying to make a decision about who wants to eat where.
